This is an expression of the personal experiences of a creative person in a foreign world. It delves into the blurry state of being lost and the relentless quest for clarity, explored through various mediums to encapsulate that journey.
This overwhelming sense of disorientation is vividly portrayed through experimental photography, particularly in the blurred imagery of the City of London. Inspired by the photographic technique of light paintings, the project captures the dynamic interplay of light against darkness. Each image is an attempt to seize the vibrancy of hustling city lights against the backdrop of the advent of darkness and uncertainty.
Through meticulous manipulation of camera settings, these visuals encapsulate the essence of being adrift in an unfamiliar landscape, seeking to find one's anchor amidst the chaos of new beginnings.
To further delve into the concept, the images are further abstracted through a range of mixed-media paintings. Where carefree brush strokes and gradual blends of colours set the mood of the project.
The Collection
To enhance the transition between concepts and maintain a painterly feel, the paintings are translated onto beautiful drapey fabrics using the warp-painting method. The weaving process avoids repetition in the warp to ensure each piece is as unique as the paintings it comes from. The result is a series of artworks and conceptual fabrics that capture the essence of emotional complexity through a blend of vibrant colours and complex weaves.
